The little pink aliens showed at last that they are not pulling their punches and they are actually a lot tougher than they seem. They had to bring a big bad eyeball thingy that reminded me of Krang’s oversized spherical tank in the ‘Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles’ to make their point, but at least they did.Ichiya’s dull personality takes a rather rapid change (and I mean really rapid to the point that there is no interesting dialogue or really deep scenes to justify that change) because of Canaria’s injury. Now that the children have a common enemy to focus on, they forget their previous perils and unite for the most boring training montage scene in the history of training montage scenes. At last, Ichiya becomes from a self-centered prick to just a prick who understands that the only way to kill the giant pink ball is to cooperate with his fellow classmate I mean soldiers.Each city is following Ichiya’s sound plan that plays to their strengths. During the battle scene I realized that each city resembles one military branch.

After a battle scene full of flawed images – from the exploding train to the air carrier-submarine – it turns out that the only way to defeat the Leviathan is to call the power of Albert Einstein (more about this in the themes section).The final blow was delivered by Ichiya and Hime in a scene that wasn’t even animated. The climax of the battle was a frame-dropping torture of unnecessary stills. Needless to say that I was disappointed.
